Operating and monitoring your business applicationsDelivered software is not software that lasts. Someone has to keep it running.

A custom application, a web platform, an AI tool connected to your data: on delivery day, everything works. Six months later a certificate has expired, a dependency has a vulnerability, the backup stopped running and nobody knows. Operations is the job that prevents this. Kapsloc provides it for what we build and for what others built before us.

Your situations

What happens to applications nobody operates

The developer who built it left, and the code is on their old laptop.

The site goes down on a Saturday and you hear about it from a customer on Monday.

The "automatic" backup has been frozen for months with no alert.

A security update was never applied for fear of breaking something.

The server is oversized and billed every month, or undersized and slow.

The AI tool answers oddly since the model changed, and nobody measures it.

What we deliver

What operations include

Controlled hosting and deployments

On our servers in France or on yours, with versioned deployments and a one-command rollback. No more manual releases on a Friday evening.

Monitoring and alerts

Availability, response time, errors, disk space, certificates, scheduled jobs: watched continuously, with an alert reaching us before the problem reaches you.

Tested backups

Encrypted, hosted in France, checked nightly, with a restore test every quarter. A backup that was never restored does not exist.

Updates and AI-system follow-up

Dependencies, system, AI models: updated on a schedule, tested first, with response-quality measurement for AI tools.

How it works

How we take over an application

  1. 01

    Assessment

Code, hosting, access, backups, dependencies, documentation: we list what exists, what is missing and what is risky. One day for a typical application.

  2. 02

    Bringing it under control

Code repository, reproducible deployment, monitoring, backups, named access. Emergencies first, the rest on a schedule.

  3. 03

    Day-to-day operations

Monitoring, updates, incident response, small changes. A monthly report of what happened and what was done.

  4. 04

    Evolutions

When the application must change, the team that operates it is also the one that knows how to modify it without breaking it.

Why an engineering company for operations

Most managed-services providers know how to manage workstations, servers and e-mail. They rarely know how to operate custom-built software, a platform with its database and background jobs, or an AI system whose answer quality must be watched. Kapsloc is first a development company: we operate applications because we know how to build them, so we can read their code, understand their logs and repair them.

What we watch, concretely

  • Availability and performance: the page answers, how fast, from outside.
  • Application errors: exceptions come up with their context, grouped, not drowned in logs.
  • Scheduled jobs: did the nightly sync run, did the monthly invoice go out.
  • Resources: disk, memory, database, certificates, domains.
  • AI systems: cost of model calls, response time, and a sample of answers reviewed every week to catch drift.

Backing up to restore, not to reassure

At a client we found an accounting server whose backup had been frozen for more than two years: the mechanism sent an old image every night, with no alert. Since then our rule is simple: every backup is checked by a freshness test, and a real restore is performed every quarter in an isolated environment. The monthly report tells you the date of the last successful restore.

Taking over someone else's application

It happens often: the agency closed, the freelancer left, the vendor ended support. We take the application as it is, document it, bring it under control, and tell you honestly whether it is healthy, needs consolidation, or should eventually be replaced. No forced rewrite: an application that works and is properly operated can live a long time.

What it costs

A monthly fee per application, according to its criticality and volume: monitoring, backups, updates and included intervention time. Changes are quoted separately. Hosting is billed at real cost, on our servers in France or with your provider. The contract ends with a short notice period, and the documentation is handed over at any time.

What we operate today

  • A Kubernetes cluster hosting the websites and CMS of a construction group, with versioned deployments, rollback and monitoring.

  • The backup chain of a Windows accounting server for a Gironde SME: 784 missed backups found at audit, none since, restore tested every quarter.

  • A monitoring platform for 4G-connected agricultural equipment, with a time-series database, alerts and remote control.

  • Our own ERP and our game-server hosting platform: dozens of containers monitored every day.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we are asked

You did not build our application, can you operate it?

Yes, it is a common case. We start with a one-day assessment to read the code, the hosting and the access. We then tell you what is healthy, what must be consolidated before we commit to a service level, and what should eventually be replaced.

Which technologies do you operate?

Modern web, Node.js, Next.js, React, Python, PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB databases, containers and Kubernetes, Linux and Windows servers, and AI systems connected to hosted or local models. For a technology we do not know, we say so.

What happens with an incident at night or at the weekend?

Monitoring alerts around the clock. The response level depends on the contract: business hours for most applications, on-call for those that cannot wait until Monday. You choose, application by application.

Can we keep our current hosting provider?

Yes. We operate on our servers in France, on the cloud of your choice or on your machines. What matters is that deployment is reproducible and that we have the necessary access, in our own name.

And for an AI tool, what changes?

We also watch the cost of model calls, response time and quality: a sample of answers is reviewed every week, and a model version change is tested before deployment. An AI tool that drifts while nobody watches loses its users' trust within weeks.
